Spice Boutique: Where Sugar and Spice Make Everything.....FASHIONABLE!

Hello Boutique Freaks! I was invited (more like invited myself and they graciously accepted) to come out and visit one of Atlanta's newest shopping spots: Spice Boutique. Spice Boutique is located near the historic Sweet Auburn district in Atlanta. The Sweet Auburn area is known for its booming social and economic success for and by African Americans between the 1880s and 1960s. Sweet Auburn now has a budding fashion district and Spice Boutique is growing with it.

These are the fabulous ladies that planted to the seed, Portia and Jennifer. Portia, a professional model, and Jennifer, creator of Candy Girlz Shoes, came together to form Spice Boutique. The haute new boutique has been up and running for about 8 months now and they have so much to offer. You can get a little of everything from Spice, from exclusive vintage pieces, modern pieces by up and coming designers, haute lingerie, even "haut"er shoes, and banging accessories.

One of the things that really caught my eye when I walked in was the presentation of the shoes and once I got a little closer, the merchandise did NOT let me down. These beautiful shoes are adorned with Candy Girlz Shoes. The great thing about Jennifer's Candy Girlz Shoes is that not only do the designs and styles rival the likes of Louboutain but they're also affordable. My picutre does the shoe display no justice at all but heres a look at it.

While chatting with one of the store owners, Portia I got a little "tea" too. As she told me about all the different lines they carry in the store she mentioned that they carried J. Loren. I told her that I had been to his boutique La Bella Vie in Castleberry Hills (check out my previous posts here ~~>La Bella Vie and La Bella Vie 2). Unfortunately clicking the links to my post is the only way you'll be able to visit La Bella Vie because the owner closed his doors, but on a much higher note you can find all his creations in Spice Boutique. Heres one dress I thought was really nice.

Some other brands you can find here are Cupcake Mafia Tees, Pretty Posh lingerie, and Jewelry and Accessories by artist like Renitta Clements, Miss B, and Aja. You can visit Spice Boutique at 49 Boulevard SE Atlanta, GA 30312. Their website is coming soon, but in the meantime you can stay updated on the latest news with Spice Boutique via their twitter @spice_boutique for @spice_girlz , find them under Spice Boutique on facebook, or just stop in the store and join their mailing/text list! Be sure to tell them Boutique Freak sent you!

the store as well.

So make sure you guys go out and visit Spice Boutique at 49 Boulevard SE Atlanta, GA 30312, you can also visit their facebook page. Their

The Lucky Exchange

Hello Boutique Freakers! Well it October and I know alot of you guys are starting to look for one of a kind pieces for upcoming costume parties, events..so of you just love finding new places to hunt for one of a kind pieces. Well all know Vintage is the way to go when your looking for price savy exclusivity! Well, my sister and I were on our way to grab dinner at Little Azio on Moreland (try the Tortellini entree, its awesome!), and I saw a new store in the same plaza.

Its called the Lucky Exchange. There are two locations, theres the new location I visited at 749 Moreland Ave Atlanta, GA 30316, and theres the original

location at 212 Ponce De Leon Ave Atlanta, GA 30308. The Lucky Exchange reminds me of a smaller version of The Clothing Warehouse. It is very

organized and easy to shop vintage and modern clothing and accessories. They have some cute accessories, I questioned the quality of some of the

pieces but there were some cute things there.

There is something else that makes the Lucky Exchange different and its all in the name. They specialize in the resale of Men's and Women's clothing and accessories. They offer cash and store credit for unique or name brand apparel and accessories. Lucky Exchange asked that the clothing is clean, free of stains, and needs no repair. For any other details give them a call. So if your interested in shopping for something new and different pieces, try the Lucky Exchange. Or if you interested in transitioning your wardrobe, bring your fabulous fashions in to Lucky Exchange and get something new!

FRESH Vintage at Poor Little Rich Girl

Taken by Cramel on 12/29/10 Picture taken by me

Hello Boutique Freaks! Hope the holidays were good to you. Now New Years Eve is upon us and I feel like you guys need something different. I think you need something one of a kind. The best way to get something "One of a kind" is to go VINTAGE!! Today I visited Poor Little Rich Girl vintage shop located at 3393 Main Street in College Park, GA. The moment you start driving down Main Street in Historic College Park its like driving through time. The strip of shops look as if they might have been frozen in time from the '60s. What an appropriate area of town for this boutique.

Walking into the shop is like walking into you affluent and fashionable 55 - 65 year old Aunt's fabulous walk-in closet. The set up is awesome. Co-Owner Kenny showed me around the store. I told him I was afraid to even touch some of the clothes but he told me they encourage customers to try on the clothes. Wouldn't that be a fun time for you and your girlfriends? This shop gets an A for decor. The light blue paint on the walls and the hardwood floors give the shop a comfortable, homey feel. The outfits that are displayed on the walls are great and there are even vintage props displayed around the shop like luggage and books. I also give the shop an A for shopping experience. Kenny did a wonderful job showing me around the store, showing me pieces they'd just gotten in, and answering any questions I had. The prices are pretty cool too, I eyed some cute accessories as low as $8 and I really had my eye on some gorgeous blouses than ran $16 and up. There are definately some unique pieces in the shop. I'm sure that patterned jumpsuit or the red beaded and sequin dress displayed in the window would be FAB on someone for New Years Eve. And you wouldn't have to worry about anyone else having your outfit if you shop here. While everyone else poors into the malls to find their New Years outfits, make your way to Poor Little Rich Girl and get Retro Glam! You will LOVE IT! You can also shop online www.etsy.com/shop/plrg or learn more about the shop at www.plrgvintage.com .
